Whether mountain adventures on the two closest mountains "Bürgeralpe" and "Gemeindealpe" or winter experiences off the slopes - Mariazell offers a variety of attractions for an eventful and relaxing winter holiday. Up on the Bürgeralpe or the Gemeindealpe, down through the safest snow in the Alps and then back to the hotel - to warm up at the café bar PLATZHIRSCH.
Only 50m from the hotel the cablecar "Bürgeralpe Express" awaits you for the transport to the slopes and top of "Bürgeralpe". For all visitors, whether skiers or snowboarders, winter hikers, tobogganers or special guests, the excursion to the Mariazeller Bürgeralpe is stress-free and pleasant. 11 km of slopes and 5 lifts, the 1.7 km long toboggan run, Basti's Slope and the winter hiking trail "3-Seen-Blick" await you.
Gemeindealpe Mitterbach - the "athletic mountain" offers fun & action
The Gemeindealpe has repositioned itself as a ski resort and offers even more fun and action for skiers and snowboarders. Two modern chairlifts provide access to 15.5 km of pistes. On deep snow specialists, a freeride area awaits you in the summit area next to the steepest slope in Lower Austria, a speed track with speed measurement is available for high-speed fans and the Funslope in the valley station area.
The centerpiece is the snow park, directly at the middle station, equipped with 17 elements, including 15 rails / boxes and two kickers. This is fun for advanced and beginners. An alpine hut right at the start of the snowpark and an inn at the park end complete the offer. The associated drag lift ensures a fast turnaround time.

Through the Ski Association "3-Berge-Skipass" you can visit our neighbors Gemeindealpe or Annaberg with one ski card at any time. There is a free ski bus between these 3 ski mountains during the Christmas and semester holidays.
Enjoy the nature off the slopes: Whether on the touring skis or snowshoes, explore the wintry landscape at your own pace. In addition to the ascent to our local mountains - "Mariazeller Bürgeralpe" and "Gemeindealpe Mitterbach" also the winter hike around the Erlaufsee is an unforgettable experience.

Touring Ski Offer & Touring Ski Night: Touring Skiers are welcome on the Bürgeralpe! Every Friday selected pistes for the Touring Ski Night are excluded from the piste barrier until 9pm.
Winter Hiking Trail "Drei-Seen-Blick":
The summit - hiking trail - Three Lakes view was created in autumn 2015 directly at the summit of the Bürgeralpe Mariazell. The trail starts at the mountain station of the Bürgeralpe. Along the circular hiking trail you not only have an impressive view of the mountain panorama of Mariazell - from various places you can enjoy the view of the three lakes Erlaufsee, Hubertussee and Kristallsee. On the hiking trail, the wonderful winter landscape can best be explored on snowshoes. Walking time: approx. 45 minutes
On the way with cross-country skis: Explore the marvelous landscape in Mariazell with the cross-country skis - best preparation is guaranteed. Around 27 km of groomed trails (classic & skating) are available in the immediate vicinity.

Ice skating and curling
Natural ice skating rink at Mariazeller Stüberl (tennis court) with suitable weather conditions - please inquire in advance! Ice skating rental & night running with escape light until 21.00 clock.
Ice diving & ice fishing
Ice diving at lake "Erlaufsee" is offered on request by the local diving schools "Harry's Diving School" and "Neptun Erlaufsee".
